Nach drei Adventures, die mit insgesamt über 10 Millionen verkauften Spielen unangefochten auf Nummer 1 der meist verkauften Adventure-Serien stehen, wurde jetzt der vierte Teil der Myst-Serie angekündigt: Myst Online (Arbeitstitel). Ob es ein reines MMORPG werden soll oder ob es auch Adventure-Elemente enthalten wird, ist bisher noch unbekannt. Auf der neuen Myst Online-Homepage gibt es erste Screenshots und Konzeptzeichnungen zu sehen.

"Devotees of the Myst series, fans of traditional massively-multiplayer online games, and non-gamers alike are sure to be captivated by Myst Online. The game features visually stunning real-time 3D graphics, rich storylines, continually updated content and real voice communication, and traditional text chat. Myst Online will have an easy learning curve, enabling players of all skill levels and interests to experience the expansive Ages and history of Myst in a uniquely social environment.

Computer Games Online hat ein weiteres Interview mit Simon Jeffrey veröffentlicht. Der Präsident von LucasArts spricht in diesem Interview vor allem darüber, dass die LucasArts Produkte in letzter Zeit stark an Qualität eingebüßt haben, und über seine Pläne, zur alten Qualität zurückzukehren.

Leider wird in dem Gespräch (das schon im April geführt worden ist) noch nichts über Full Throttle II verraten; hoffentlich erhalten wir darüber etwas mehr Informationen während der E3. Allerdings kann man wohl vermuten, dass das Spiel von Sean Clark entwickelt wird.

Over the years some of your solid designers have gone on to seek other opportunities. Are Mike Stemmle and Sean Clark [co-designers of The Curse of Monkey Island] still with LucasArts?

Oh yes, Sean is working on a project that will likely be unveiled at E3 that I think a lot of our old fans will be excited about. Mike is kicking some ideas around right now about his next project. They're both still here and both working on new games for us.

Fire of Webarts arbeitet an einem Nachfolger zu Day of the Tentacle. Das Projekt scheint noch nicht sehr weit fortgeschritten zu sein, aber die veröffentlichten Grafiken sehen vielversprechend aus...

Tatsächlich! Full Throttle 2 kommt! In einer Pressemitteilung wurde jetzt Full Throttle 2, der Nachfolger des 1995 erschienenen Vollgas, angekündigt. Doch Adventure-Puristen werden wohl - wie befürchtet - wieder einmal nicht auf ihre Kosten kommen:

"The follow up to the award winning game from 1995 will once again feature one of LucasArts' most popular and enduring characters, the swaggering outlaw biker Ben, leader of a renegade motorcycle gang called the Polecats. The free wheeling action-adventure will offer a humorous original story, furious bare knuckle fighting, and the thrill of high speed biking."
