1 Million units forecast for Initial European Launch Period

London, 24 January 2007 – Sony Computer Entertainment Europe today announced that PLAYSTATION®3 will be launched in the PAL territories including the United Kingdom on 23rd March 2007 at a price of £425.

Responding to retail and consumer demand, SCEE confirmed that initially only the 60GB model would be available, with the 20GB model to follow later in the year dependent on demand.

An expected one million PS3 units will be made available during the initial launch period to all SCEE territories.

SCEE also announced a stellar launch line-up of over 30 game titles for PS3, including eagerly awaited titles published by SCEE such as Resistance: Fall of Man™, MotorStorm™, Genji™: Days of the Blade, FORMULA ONE CHAMPIONSHIP EDITION and Ridge Racer™ 7. An exceptional range of titles in every genre will also be available at launch from the world’s leading third party publishers, including Electronic Arts, Activision, Namco Bandai, Sega, Take 2, Ubisoft, Vivendi Universal, and Sony Online Entertainment.

In addition to games on disc, an exciting range of fully-featured downloadable games
will debut on the PLAYSTATION®Network. These will include gaming icons such as Tekken®: Dark Resurrection and Gran Turismo® HD Concept; the fully-featured PS3 debut of the best-selling franchise Gran Turismo, realised with full HD (1080p) visual quality. Created by Polyphony Digital Inc and published by Sony Computer Entertainment, Gran Turismo® HD Concept has been downloaded by more than 350,000 users since it was released in December 2006 in North America and Japan.

Also available on the PLAYSTATION®Network will be brainteasers such as Go! Sudoku and Go! Puzzle, and innovative games such as Blast Factor™ and flOw™, designed exclusively for PLAYSTATION 3 and delivering on the promise to provide original content created by non-traditional developers and publishers.

Concurrent with the European launch, a new System Update to further enhance the entertainment potential of PS3 will be issued.

Ich hab seit gestern eine Wii - und kan nur eins sagen: Besser nicht kaufen, das Teil macht süchtig und WiiSports verursacht Muskelkater
Zumindest wenn man das als Fun-Konsole sieht.
Shooter spielen sich IMHO auf dem PC eh besser, daher sind die für mich kein Grund, eine andere Konsole zu kaufen.

Von dem PS2 Lineup interessiert mich eigentlich nur Call of Duty 3 und da hab ich immer noch die Hoffnung, daß das irgendwann mal für den PC rauskommt. Im übrigen kotzt es mich schon wieder an, daß bei dem unverschämten Preis von 600 € + noch nciht mal die BlueRay-Fernbedienung mit bei ist.

Nicht nur die Fernbedienung fehlt sondern auch das HDMI oder Component Kabel.
Du kannst also nur in normaler PAL Qualli 576i Filme schaun oder Spielen, da nur das Composite Kabel beiliegt.
Must also für die Konsole mit 650€ rechnen.

Ja, man kann immer viel hin- und herrechnen. Bei der Xbox360 ist aber auch nicht alles gerade Kundenfreundlich:

• keine Fernbedienung dabei, diese kostet 30€ (die ersten Modelle hatten eine dabei -> war aber nur eine Aktionszeit).
• für HD-DVDs braucht man ein zusätzliches Laufwerk für knappe 200€ - wenigstens ist da dann auch die Fernbedienung dabei)
• bei der Premium(!)-Version gab es kein Ladekabel/Akku für den Wireless-Controller, das muss man sich auch extra kaufen - oder auf die umständlichen normalen Batterien/Akkus umsteigen. Das ist auch immer ein sehr umständliches Prozedere da der Schacht so verdammt eng ist.

Hier meine Milchmädchenrechnung:
Xbox 360 Premium: 400€
Xbox 360 HD-DVD-Laufwerk: 200€
Play & Charge-Kit: 20€

Da ist man also auch bei ca. 620€ bei vergleichbaren Leistungsumfang. Man kann jetzt noch argumentieren, dass die Preise teilweise zu hoch angesetzt sind und einige Komponenten auch günstiger per Internet bestellt werden können - dies wird aber bei der PS3 nicht anders sein sobald sie eine Weile erhältich ist. Und wie gesagt, das ist meine Milchmädchenrechnung.

Also Fazit: Lieber direkt auf den ganzen Konsolenkram verzichten: ist alles viel zu teuer - egal von welchem Hersteller.
(Die Konsolenspiele kosten ja meistens auch wesentlich mehr als die für PCs)

Können wir das "Konsolen-Bashing" nicht aus diesem Thema raushalten? Wer keine Konsole will, soll sich einfach keine kaufen und nicht immer den PC propagieren.

Wii hat als erste Konsole das Zeug, dass ich ernsthaft über die Anschaffung einer solchen nachdenke, weil mir die Sache mit der Steuerung über Bewegung ein echter Vorteil im Gegensatz zu PC-Spielen, auch als zusätzlicher Fun-Faktor, zu sein scheint. Ich sitze eh zu viel rum und hasse die Bewegungslosigkeit beim Dauerzocken. Die macht mich immer so kribbelig, dass ich viel zuviel rauche, esse oder trinke, um damit fertig zu werden.

Ich bin ja mal gespannt wie sie sich bei mir im Altagstest Schlägt.

Ach NetGic red das Spiele Angebot der Wii doch nicht immer so schlecht. Dieses Jahr kommen so viele tolle Titel für die Wii heraus und da pickt man sich auch noch die Rosinen raus, da man bei den Spielepreisen eh nicht alle guten Spiele kaufen wird. Die Wii lohnt sich alleine schon für Zelda und für das neue Resident Evil und Mortal Kombat und hoffentlich auch einen neuen MarioKart Teil, von dem ich allerdings noch nichts gehört habe!

Ich rede es ja nicht schlecht.
Es gibt zur zeit allerdings ausser Zelda doch noch kein wirklich gutes Spiel.
Und die kommenden Perlen lassen noch ne weile auf sich warten.
