Oberon Games to Bring the Mysterious World of Agatha Christie to Online Gaming

Seek-and-Find Game Unveils a Puzzling World of Interactive Intrigue

NEW YORK--(BUSINESS WIRE)--With more than two billion books sold worldwide, only the Bible and Shakespeare have outsold Agatha Christie, making her the best-selling novelist of all time. Now, fans of her Hercule Poirot novels and murder mystery devotees alike can pursue their passion online as Oberon Games and International Rights Management (IRM) today announced the downloadable PC game, Agatha Christie: Death on the Nile, will be available May 2007.

After a rich heiress is killed, Agatha Christie’s famous detective, Hercule Poirot finds himself in the right place at the right time to investigate the crime with a boatful of murder suspects onboard the S.S. Karnak as it floats serenely down the Nile. Can the Belgian detective find the culprit before they reach port?

“We are thrilled to bring the timeless and thoroughly entertaining stories of Agatha Christie to interactive life,” says Don Ryan, vice president of Publishing for Oberon Media, parent of Oberon Games. “The Agatha Christie stories and her audience are a perfect fit for casual games, and we know that both mystery buffs and casual gamers will be delighted with Death on the Nile.”

This new Agatha Christie game is beautifully designed and artfully drawn, using an engaging and intuitive “seek-and-find” game dynamic. Award-winning game designer Jane Jensen has gone to great lengths to remain faithful to the original storyline and the era. Fans of the Queen of Crime and casual games alike will find the game immensely appealing as they immerse themselves in the uncertain world of Hercule Poirot.

Oberon Games has worked with Interactive Rights Management (IRM) and Agatha Christie Ltd, to create the game and bring it to audiences around the world. By drawing on IRM’s global digital brand exploitation experience and Agatha Christie Ltd’s success in reinvigorating this classic literary brand, Oberon has created a compelling interactive game.

Megan Goodwin-Patel, Director and Co-Founder of IRM, adds: “Agatha Christie’s classic plots have been captivating readers’ imaginations for decades, and we’re excited to be working with Oberon Media and Agatha Christie Ltd in developing a fresh new way to enjoy these incredible tales.”
