Die neue Homepage von Double Fine Productions ist bereits seit letzter Woche online. Double Fine ist die Firma von Tim Schafer, dem Spielegott hinter Grim Fandango, Vollgas, und Day of the Tentacle. Auch, wenn sein neues, streng geheimes Spiel erst zur E3 offiziell angekündigt werden soll und die Homepage dementsprechend wenig Fakten bietet, lohnt sich ein Besuch trotzdem, da die Texte nur so vor Schafer's Witz sprühen. Der News-Eintrag vom 18. Mai lautet zum Beispiel: "We are out of paper towels."
Und jetzt die schlechte Nachricht: Auch wenn das Projekt noch streng geheim ist, ist trotzdem etwas durchgesickert: Tim Schafers neues Spiel wird ein Action-Adventure für die XBox namens "Psychonauts". Ob der größere Anteil auf Action oder auf Adventure liegt, ist unbekannt. Die bisherigen Screenshots lassen zumindest einiges von Schafers schrägem Humor erahnen, was auch für die Spielbeschreibung gilt:

"It's a game in which characters' personal paranormal powers are unlocked to plunge players into the minds of bizarre characters. Gamers journey deep into crazy worlds of infinite possibility to thwart the secret plan of an evil madman and realize the ultimate dream of joining an elite force of psychic superheroes, the Psychonauts. The game will be available spring 2003."
