Zu meiner Schande habe ich erst heute gemerkt, dass mein seit Jahren favorisierter Liebling Randy Newman eine neue CD draußen hat. Na ja...seine letzte war von 1997...das entschuldigt mich ein wenig...ich hatte nicht mehr mit was neuem gerechnet...
Also die CD heißt 'Harps and Angels'...einen Live-Auftritt, bei welchem Newman alle Lieder der CD vorstellt, kann man (und das ohne schlechtes Gewissen) hier anhören:

Also man hört hier nur Randy Newman am Piano...und seine, wie ich finde, doch immer noch herrausragenden Texte...vielleicht nicht mehr ganz so herrausragend wie früher...aber immer noch besser als 99% dessen, was man auf MTV zu hören bekommt...zur Veranschaulischung ein Beispiel entnommen der aktuellen CD...ein erfrischender Blick auf die USA...und die, die sie kritisieren: (video dazu hier:
