Daikatana 2 after the Google’s novels :)

Recently Russian game developing company Step Creative Group has announced a project Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka 2: Evening on the Eve of Ivan Kupal Holiday, a beautiful animated 2D adventure after the novellas of the famous Russian author Nikolai Vasilievich Gogol.

According to the discussion of the press-release at the extra-popular Internet-resource Bluesnews.com with more than forty comments, it’s obvious that many people read ‘Dikanka 2’ as ‘Daikatana 2’ (the original Daikatana was released in the 90s by John Romero and Ion Storm). We even received a ‘Contact message for Step CG’, which says we should change the name if we don’t want to mix up the gamers’ associations.

However, we must notice that in the title of our game we use the original name of a small Ukranian village Dikanka from the cycle of novellas written by famous all over the world Russian author Gogol (please, don’t read as Google!).

To avoid all the further mistakes Step CG decided to make this press-release, where all the gamers are asked not to confuse Dikanka with Daikatana. The name of our adventure Evenings on a Farm near Dikanka 2: Evening on the Eve of Ivan Kupal Holiday, or ‘Dikanka 2’ remains as we are not privileged to change the classical title.
